Klaus Bruhn Jensen (KBJ) is a communication researcher with a life-long involvement in international and interdisciplinary studies of media in different cultural contexts. During the 1980s, he pioneered qualitative studies of how ordinary users interpret the texts and images of media, often in quite unexpected ways. In the period 1988-2002, he directed the audience section of the International Association for Media and Communication Research, and his 1998 UNESCO project News of the world conducted a seven-nation comparative study of news use around the world. Since the 1990s, his work has focused on digital and mobile media, earning him a Life Membership for Service of the Association of Internet Researchers and a Fellowship of the International Communicology Institute.\\

KBJ is an entrepreneur as well as a communicator. He has authored and edited a number of standard reference works; has facilitated many conference events, publications, and other academic collaborations; and is continuously invited regularly to publish, lecture, and review in his areas of expertise. His work has been published in Chinese, English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, French, and Korean, in addition to the Scandinavian languages and Finnish.\\ \\
