Prof. Andrzej  Grzybowski is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Chair of Dept. of Ophthalmology, University of Warmia and Mazury, Olsztyn; Head of Institute for Research in Ophthalmology, Foundation for Ophthalmology Development, Poznan, Poland. After having graduated at the University School of Medical Sciences (USMS) in Poznań in 1993, he received his Ph.D. in 1997 based on the work entitled "The in vitro evaluation of antioxidant mechanisms in peritoneal mesothelial cells in selected conditions of peritoneal dialysis", and the specialization in ophthalmology in 1998 at the same University. In 2003 he obtained an MBA diploma at Academy of Economy in Poznań and Nottingham Trent University, UK. Between 2003 and 2009 he  was a senior lecturer at Dept. of Medical Physics, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań; Dept. of Optometry, University School of Medical Sciences, Poznań; and Dept. of History of Medicine at USMS in Poznań. In 2010 he made his habilitation in ophthalmology. Between 2003 and 2008 he was the head of the Clinical Lab of Electrophysiology of Vision, City Hospital, Poznań; in 2007 became the medical director of the City Hospital in Poznań, and in 2009 the head of the Dept. of Ophthalmology, Poznań City Hospital. In 2012 he became the chair of the Dept. of Ophthalmology, University of Warmia and Mazury, Olsztyn, Poland. In 2018 he became a full professor in medicine and ophthalmology. He has been active in international scientific societies including Euretina (Coopted Board member 2016 - 2018), Retina Society, AAO, EVER (Board member and chair of cataract section), ESCRS (curator of ESCRS Archive), and ISRS (member of the ISRS International Council), ICO (program coordinator for WCO, 2011-2018), and Cogan Society. At present he is a board member and treasurer of the European Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Ophthalmic Education Consortium (OEC) advisory committee of Ophthalmology Foundation. His research interests are centered on the anterior and posterior segment pathologies, with special regard to those related to cataract surgery.\\ \\
