Mislav Grgic received B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), Zagreb, Croatia, in 1997, 1998 and 2000, respectively. He has been working at the Department of Wireless Communications at FER since July 1997. He was a visiting researcher at the University of Essex, United Kingdom (1999-2000). He has been promoted to the position of Full Professor since June 2010 and to the permanent position since January 2016. He was a Dean of FER from 2014 to 2018, as the youngest ever elected dean. He has become a Head of the Alumni Community, with more than 20,000 members, since December 2018. He participated in several scientific projects. He published more than 200 papers in books, journals and conference proceedings.\\

Prof. Grgic has also been appointed as a Special Advisor to the Rector of the University of Zagreb for STEM disciplines and international projects since October 2015. He was a Science Advisor to the President of the Management Board of "KonĨar - Electrical Industry", the largest electrical engineering company in Croatia.\\

Prof. Grgic is a senior member of IEEE. He was a Chair of the IEEE Croatia Section (2013-2016), with approx. 700 members. He has been accepted as a full member of the Croatian Academy of Engineering (HATZ) since 2012.\\

Prof. Grgic received bronze and silver medals "Josip Loncar" from FER for outstanding B.Sc. and M.Sc. theses, and "Vera Johanides" award from the Croatian Academy of Engineering for scientific achievements in the area of multimedia communications, in 1997, 1999 and 2005, respectively. In 2017 he received the highest award in the field of technical sciences of the University of Zagreb - "Fran Bosnjakovic" Award - for notable results in scientific, teaching and professional work and the promotion of scientific discipline and profession, as well as the highest award of the City of Zagreb for great contribution to scientific work and activities in Zagreb. He received the Order of the Croatian Star with the Effigy of Rudjer Boskovic for extraordinary service in scientific work, popularization of science and attracting international projects, awarded by H. E. Mrs. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, President of Republic of Croatia, in June 2019. He also received the Croatian State Science Award for 2018 for popularization of technical sciences (with three co-awardees), presented in Croatian Parliament in December 2019, and the gold medal "Josip Loncar" from FER for the great contribution to the development and successful management of the Faculty, for a scientific contribution in the field of digital image processing and multimedia communications, for the popularization of science and for the general enhancement of the reputation of the Faculty through its scientific research and professional work.\\ \\
