!!Alain Fuchs
Professor Alain Fuchs is one of the major French actors of theoretical calculations related to the theory, modelling and molecular simulations of fluids confined in various types of porous materials (zeolites, MOF’s, Surface force devices, ...) of practical importance in chemistry in general and material sciences, adsorption and catalysis in particular.

Professor Alain Fuchs, a professor at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC), has served as President of the CNRS since January 2010. His term of office was renewed in February 2014. A chemical engineer by training, he has devoted his research work to the modeling and molecular simulation of confined fluids. He is the founder of the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry (CNRS/Université Paris Sud), which he also headed until 2006. From 2006 to 2010, he was director of Chimie ParisTech. A Chevalier of the French Legion of Honor, Alain Fuchs is also an officer of France's National Order of Merit, a fellow of the UK Royal Society of Chemistry and a member of the Academia Europaea. He holds an honorary doctorate from the Université du Québec in Montréal.
