Walter Doralt is a full professor (since 2019) and Vice-Dean and Dean of Research at the University of Graz (since 2023).
\\ \\
From 2013-2017, he lectured at Bucerius Law School on Comparative Law and International Trade Law. Since 2022, he has been working at UNIDROIT (Rome) as a correspondent. He  studied Law at the University of Vienna (doctoral degree 2001 - 2005), and during this period spent his exchange year at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (2000 - 2001). He attended a course on Introduction to Capital Markets and Investment at Harvard University during the Summer term 1996, immediately after graduating from the Lycée Français de Vienne (Vienna, Austria, Baccalauréat and Austrian Matura).

Walter Doralt was a founding member of the European Law Institute and is an ELI fellow. Together with two other colleagues, he has been chair of the ELI Austrian Hub. \\

Walter Doralt also held visiting positions at several universities (Luzern, as visiting professor; Zürich, as guest teacher; Luigi Bocconi, Milan, as visiting professor; Panthéon-Assas, Paris II, professeur invité; Oxford, as visiting fellow, and FU Berlin, Regensburg, and WWU Münster, as teaching professor).
