!!Yafang Cheng - Biography

Yafang Cheng is the director of Aerosol Chemistry Department at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry. She is also a guest professor at Peking University and a distinguished guest professor at the University of Science and Technology of China. Cheng’s main research interests are aerosols and their impact on air quality, public health, and climate. Cheng’s work and ideas have been recognized internationally with many prestigious awards and honors, such as "Joanna Simpson Medal" and “Atmospheric Sciences Ascent Award” by the American Geophysical Union, "Copernicus Medal" by the European Geoscience Uion (EGU), “Science Breakthroughs of the Year 2021 in Physical Sciences (top 10)” by the Falling Walls Foundation, “Schmauss Award” by the German Association for Aerosol Research (GAef), Minerva Outstanding Female Scientist Award and Research Grant of MPG. She is also an AAAS and AGU fellow and recognized by Clarivate & Web of Science as a “Highly Cited Researcher".\\
