!!Ingolf Cascorbi - Biography
\\
Ingolf Cascorbi (born 1960) graduated in biochemistry at the Free University of Berlin, Germany in 1985, where he received his PhD in biochemistry in 1989. He also studied medicine at the Free University and received his license to practice medicine in 1992. At the Charité Berlin he became highly interested in the field of pharmacogenetics of drug metabolism and transport and the molecular epidemiology of malignant and cardiovascular diseases. He specialized in clinical pharmacology in 1998, obtained his doctorate in medicine in 1999 and habilitated in 2000. In the same year, he was appointed Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Greifswald. In 2004, he was appointed Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Kiel and Director of the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology. His research continued to focus on the variability of drug response, most recently also investigating the molecular mechanisms of anticancer drug resistance using evolutionary in vitro models. In addition, collaborative translational projects aim to improve real world drug treatment using data science and artificial intelligence. \\
\\
His expertise has been recognized through invitations to a number of prestigious international journals, e.g. he has been Associate Editor of the leading journal Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics since 2012, as well as through recruitment to various international evaluation panels. Ingolf Cascorbi was also involved in his faculty as a member of various committees and in particular as Dean of Studies in Medicine from 2012-2024.\\
\\
Ingolf Cascorbi dedicated a large part of his academic life to national and international pharmacology societies. He was elected Chairman of the German Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (DGKliPha), Chairman of the European Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (EACPT) and President of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR). His work with many national and international societies has not only contributed to the further development of the discipline and the organization of international congresses, but has also enabled him to establish extensive contacts with global organizations.\\ \\[{ALLOW view All}][{ALLOW edit icascorbi}][{ALLOW upload icascorbi}][{ALLOW comment All}]
