!!Gregor Anderluh - Biography

Prof. dr. Gregor Anderluh was born in 1969. He has obtained his PhD in 1998 from the University of Ljubljana. His post-doctoral studies involved visits of laboratories in Trento (EMBO short-term fellowship, 1999), Newcastle (FEBS long-term fellowship, 2001-2002) and Oxford (EMBO short term fellowship, 2009). He co-established and led an Infrastructural Centre for Molecular Interactions Analysis at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana (2004-2015). He is a full profesor at the University of Ljubljana (since 2011). He was a head of the Department of Biology, Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana (2011) and a head of the Laboratory for Molecular Biology and Nanobiotechnology at the National institute of Chemistry (2011-2015). Since 2015 he is the director of the National Institute of Chemistry.\\

He studies interactions of proteins with cellular membranes in bacterial pathogenesis, plant-pathogen interactions and human immune system. He is developing methodology for studying protein-membrane interactions with an emphasis on surface plasmon resonance. He was a recipient of several domestic prizes, including Zois Certificate of Recognition for outstanding research achievements in biochemistry and molecular biology (2005).\\ \\
