Intervention – Stabilisation – Stimulation''
\\ \\
This [acatech|https://www.acatech.de] Impulse presents the Academy’s initial reflections on the coronavirus crisis.__
\\ \\
__The report was developed by an acatech expert group, led by Christoph M. Schmidt, member of the acatech executive committee, and [Reinhard F. Hüttl|Member/Hüttl_Reinhard], member of the Earth and Cosmic Sciences section of Academia Europaea. Christoph M. Schmidt is also the WG Co-Chair for the SAM topic on Energy.__

!Abstract:

The current restrictions on social life, “social distancing" are necessary to slow down the spread of the coronavirus, and thus the number of new infections. At the same time, however, these social distancing measures have significant economic consequences: Economic activity is coming to a standstill on an unprecedented scale.
\\ \\
In order to avoid a complete shutdown of the economy to enable the health system to continue to achieve its best performance and also to guarantee the basic health care of the population the acatech report contains a number of recommendations to make an active contribution toward crisis management. These recommendations are built along three main lines of action "intervene" - "stabilise" - "stimulate".
\\ \\
Now, and in the weeks to come, the technical sciences, and thus also acatech, will continue their efforts to ensure that our society and our economy will come through this serious crisis as resiliently as possible.
