''"It was a great honour for me to be elected Chair of the Young Academy of Europe, an organisation that I am passionate about. I am grateful to the previous Chairs for the opportunity to learn from them during my first two years on the Board. As young scholars prepare for the complex post-COVID world, my vision is to lead the YAE and to use its trans-disciplinary strengths and excellence to solve challenges we face in Europe. As a grassroots initiative, I truly believe in the YAE’s power to bring about change, as a platform for young scholars to build support, to explore and debate new ideas, and to have a clear voice in European science policy. I am looking forward to working alongside my colleagues in the YAE community to further enhance the YAE’s role and influence. I am also very excited about strengthening our partnership with Academia Europaea and the wonderful opportunities that this will bring for both organisations, as well as for the wider European research community."''

!About the Young Academy of Europe

Established in 2012, the [Young Academy of Europe|https://yacadeuro.org] is a pan-European non-governmental academy of top young scientists and scholars with outspoken views about science and science policy. Its mission is to provide input to scientific exchange and science policy across all member states of the European Union or an Associated Country. YAE members are experts and leaders in their respective fields, who seek to provide a ‘younger’ perspective about the future of science and academia in Europe.
