Royal Society Awards to Edith Heard and Ingrid Daubechies#

Professor Edith Heard and Professor Ingrid Daubechies are recipients of two of the 2024 Royal Society Awards.

Professor Ingrid Daubechies MAE, Duke University, received the Bakerian Medal and Lecture "for her outstanding work on wavelets and image compression and her exceptional contributions to a wide spectrum of physical, technological, and mathematical applications". Prof. Daubechies is a member of the Mathematics section of Academia Europaea since 2015.

Professor Edith Heard MAE FRS, Collège de France, received the Croonian Medal and Lecture "for being a leading figure in X-chromosome biology, including the epigenetic mechanisms behind X-inactivation which are critical for this important part of mammalian biology". Prof. Heard is a member of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology section of Academia Europaea since 2012.
