He will share the distinction with Svetlana Mojsov and Richard DiMarchi. Prof. Tschöp was elected as member of the [Physiology and Neuroscience|Acad_Main/Sections/Physiology_and_neuroscience] Section of Academia Europaea in 2016. !About the Broermann Medical Innovation Award

Endowed with €1 million, the Broermann Medical Innovation Award was established in 2024 by __Dr. Bernard große Broermann__ to advance breakthrough discoveries with the potential to benefit patients around the world. At its inaugural presentation in 2025, the prestigious award was conferred on the American scientists __Professor Carl June__ of the University of Pennsylvania and __Professor Michel Sadelain__ of Columbia University. They were recognized for their pioneering role in developing CAR T-cell therapy, which has transformed the treatment of cancer.
