__During the 156th Session of the General Assembly of the [Polish Academy of Sciences|https://pan.pl/en] (PAN), new [foreign members of the Polish Academy of Sciences|https://pan.pl/czlonkowie-zagraniczni-pan-wybrani-podczas-zgromadzenia-ogolnego-akademii] were elected. This distinction is awarded to outstanding scholars from outside Poland whose scientific achievements are of significant importance for the development of global science and international cooperation.__
