[Professor Jan Krajíček|Member/Krajicek_Jan] MAE, Professor of Mathematical Logic at the Charles University in Prague, received the [Shoenfield Prize|https://aslonline.org/prizes-and-awards/shoenfield-prize-recipients], one of the top awards in mathematical logic, for his publication "''Proof Complexity, Encyclopedia of Mathematics and Its Applications''", no. 170, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, UK, 2019, xvi + 516 pp. by the [Association for Symbolic Logic|https://aslonline.org] (ASL). Prof. Krajíček was elected as member of the [Informatics|Acad_Main/Sections/Informatics] Section in 2012. __

!About the Shoenfield Prize

The Shoenfield Prize is awarded for outstanding expository writing in the field of logic. It has been established by the [Association for Symbolic Logic|https://aslonline.org] to honor the late Joseph R. Shoenfield for his many outstanding contributions to logic and to the Association. There will be a Shoenfield Prize for a book and another for an expository article, each to be awarded simultaneously every three years.

The Association for Symbolic Logic is an international organization supporting research and critical studies in logic. Its primary function is to provide an effective forum for the presentation, publication, and critical discussion of scholarly work in this area of inquiry.
