Current Position: Distinguished Professor, Institute of Earth Sciences, Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France, and visiting research fellow, Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia (GEOCHE).

Languages: Russian (native), English (fluent), French (basic), German (basic).

Main areas of research: Petrology and geochemistry of processes in the mantle; modelling of mantle melting and melt transport; origin of heterogeneities in the mantle; mantle geodynamics. Study of major, trace element and isotope geochemistry of magmatic phenocrysts and melt and fluid inclusions. Use state-of-the-art in-situ analytical methods (SIMS, LA-ICP-MS, EPMA, Raman, etc.) to decipher the composition of parent magmas and their evolution in magmatic systems in major tectonic settings.

Field experience and research cruises: Siberian Traps (1973, 1975, 2012), Okhotsk Sea (1974), Kamchatka (1976, 1986, 2008), Mid-Atlantic Ridge (1978, 1985); Cyprus ophiolites (1985, 1993, 2002), Hawaii (2000), Iceland (2001, 2003, 2008), Urals ophiolites (2006, 2007).
