Jean Clobert is among the top international leaders in behavioural ecology. Has been also one of the first scientists to promote a multidisciplinary and mechanistic approach of animal ecology, i.e. which involves physiological and genetical approaches. His research is conducted in the frame of a very strong network of European collaborations, in the continuity of a career which started in Belgium, continued in UK and then in France. He is the Director of the emblematic CNRS station in Moulis, which is particularly focusing on animals which live in caves.
