__Research Interests__
\\ \\
Physiology of marine organisms (sea urchins, coccolithophorids, cnidarians) and effect of environmental parameters. Presently, coral physiology (over 90 papers published in this area), with particular emphasis on both biomineralization and symbiosis in the context of climate change (global warming, ocean acidification).\\
\\
Mechanism of formation of coral skeleton and more particularly on i) the physiology of skeletogenesis and interaction with symbiosis (light-enhanced calcification), ii) the mechanism of regulation of ion transport during skeletogenesis, iii) the characterization and role of organic matrix molecules present within the biomineral, iv) effect of ocean acidification on calcification and growth of corals.\\
\\
Mutual adaptation of both partners (animal host and zooxanthellae) to the symbiotic state, and more particularly to the molecular and genomic relationship between zooxanthellae and their host: i) supply of inorganic carbon for zooxanthellae photosynthesis, ii) mechanism of adaptation of symbiotic cnidarians to hyperoxia-induced oxidative stress due to symbiont photosynthesis and more particularly on antioxidant enzymes (catalase and superoxide dismutases).\\
