  • Source and institutional history of canon law, particularly concerning the 11th and 13th century
  • Pre-Gratian Canon Law Collections, focusing on the influence of patristic texts and Roman Law sources
  • Paleographical and codicological research on the original pre-Gratian manuscripts and their use at ecclesiastical tribunals, cathedral teaching, episcopal court, and on the day to day parish activity
  • Historical development and forms of relationship between Church and state, based on the canonical and legal documents
