  • Out-group derogation: public opposition to grant civil rights to migrants
  • Voting for far right-wing parties aiming to exclude ethnic minorities
  • In-group solidarity: helping in-group members and performing voluntary work in formal organisations building on classic and contemporary theories from which hypotheses are derived and tested more rigorously than previously using innovative comparative methodological analyses for high quality data: multi-level analyses considering that individuals' behaviour is affected by the socio-historical and socio-economic contexts of these individuals

  • 2004 elected member of the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences
  • 2002 Scheepers served as the first elected Dutch national coordinator for the European Social Survey, granted EU Descartes Prize for radical innovations in cross-national surveys: http://ec.europa.eu/research/press/2005/pr0212en.cfm.
