Fields of Scholarship
  • Mineralogy, physico-chemical properties of minerals at non ambient conditions, for geological and industrial purposes
  • Crystallography, crystal structures of minerals and synthetic phases, relationship between crystal chemistry and properties
  • Industrial mineralogy, use of minerals in industrial applications (zeolites, kaolinite, oxides, cement phases, etc.), with special focus on the kinetics of reaction during thermal processes (time-resolved investigtions at high temperature).
  • Cultural heritage, use of advanced chracterization techniques in archaeometry and conservation science
  • Materials science, investigation of materials by advanced probes (synchrotron radiation, neutron beams), and combined techniques
